Society today may affect teens, but teens, having underdeveloped brains and illogical minds, cannot help but negatively affect society through their mood changes towards their family and bullying because teens are at a point in their life where they do not have much logic. For instance, WebMD’s article on teen behavior says some examples on how teens misbehave when the article says, “Sulking, arguing, lying, and rebelling are just a few of the ways teens misbehave. As teens become more independent, they still lack the emotional maturity they need to make informed, thoughtful decisions” (“Teen Bad Behavior and Discipline Strategies”). Teens affect their families through having fluctuating emotions that are unpredictable. Teens act on these emotions and can sometimes make bad decisions that not only affect them, but their families. Teens are more comfortable with their families and they are more likely to act out at home through arguing and rebelling. Teens are easily agitated because they are at a time when their brains are developing and their brains will soon be able to make good decisions. Due to their developing brains, they are also unable to control their emotions. Little things end up easily agitating teens and they do not have the logic or ability to make good decisions on how they handle their feelings. Furthermore, Bullying Statistics’ article on teen bullying says that many teens have great emotional effects on other teens through bullying when the article says, “First of all, there are the obvious physical problems and injuries that can result from physical bullying. However, emotional, verbal and cyber bullying can deeply affect teens as well. These activities can lead to depression (and even suicide), drug use, and stunted social development” (“Teenage Bullying”). Teen bullying affects society by making other teens feel unsafe and unhappy. Bullying of teens exerts pressure on other teens and makes them feel sad and alone. Bullying can make other teenagers feel like they are not good enough and create a sad society. Teens can become anti-social and unconfident due to bullying, which affects the lives of teen victims of bullying greatly. They have a personality change, they are not as talkative, and they do not enjoy things as much as they would if they were not being bullied. The adult perception of teens is also affected because they perceive teens as cruel because of what they are doing to each other. Bullying is very serious and quite common. It is not right and creates a society that will judge others and it affects the emotions of others. Teens have underdeveloped brains and are unable to make the right decision on how to treat others because they are unaware of how they are making others feel. Emotional teens that have underdeveloped brains that cannot make good decisions affect society negatively by acting out towards family members and bullying other teens.
